Vintage Silk Kantha Tie Beads Long Necklace
Mieko Mintz's journey began on the tranquil southern Japanese island of Kyushu, where she honed her fashion expertise while studying in Tokyo. With twelve years of experience as a fashion designer in Tokyo, she ventured to the United States to embark on an English language adventure, and destiny had other plans, leading her to call this new land her home.
After several years of crafting her designs from her residence, Mieko Mintz inaugurated her first boutique on Grove Street in the West Village, located in Lower Manhattan, New York City. This significant step occurred in August 1999. Five years later, she found a new home for her store on the picturesque Thompson Street in the artistic hub of Soho.
In 2009, Mieko took the plunge into wholesale, and by 2014, the operation had grown to necessitate a larger space on Vandam Street, also within the creative landscape of Soho. This location became the global epicenter for the wholesale distribution of Maison Mieko clothing.
