Original Sm. French Antique Love Medallion, Lyon, France Circa 1907

These collectible medals come in various shapes and sizes and all bear the message in French "plus qu'hier" (more than yesterday) and "moins que demain" (less than tomorrow) with a plus and a minus sign. "I love you more today than yesterday, but less than tomorrow." They are embellished with tiny rubies and diamonds.

The message was inspired by a 19th century poem by Rosemonde Gérard, whose husband is coincidentally the author of Cyrano de Bergerac.

2. 9/16" diameter. This piece has a braided wreathlike border with interesting details.

4. 3/4" diameter.  This one is simple and chic.
